Bringing glam to Joplin, Missouri all the way from N.Y.C.

In New York City, Taylor owner & master stylist attended the Fashion Institute of Technology and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Business Merchandising. She went on to use that degree within Macy’s Corporate where she first started her career in fashion as a Menswear Digital Merchandiser. The position was to maintain relationships with brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica, and Brooks Brothers. She was then promoted within Women’s Shoes and worked for 2 years as a Buyer collaborating with brands such as Anne Klein, Toms, Zodiac, Steve Madden, Sam Edelman, and more.

It was while Taylor was in fashion school, she took an internship cutting fabric swatches and realized her love for dresses was one that ran deeply. That chance internship turned into friendships with a team of consultants and a designer that are still held near and dear. She worked for the Jenny Yoo Collection until she was promoted at Macy’s . It was a decision Taylor did not make lightly but in order to fully develop into her buyer position was necessary. This position helped create Taylor’s love for bridal into what it is today, and she is proud to say it all does come full circle as Jenny is the first order she placed for Augusta Bridal.

Due to the state of the world and ready for a change of pace, in 2020: Taylor moved from New York City to Missouri to be with her family during the questionable times of the world since her job was transitioning to a fully remote position. For someone who thrives collaborating in-person, this was a difficult period and felt very disconnected from her position. This resulted in Taylor making the difficult decision in leaving what was once her dream job and do some soul searching.

After leaving corporate America, moving halfway across the country and purchasing a home here in Joplin, Taylor knew there had to be a reason for it. Seeing that Joplin was lacking a quality gown store, Taylor immediately identified the void that had to be filled. Augusta Bridal was born on the concept of bringing a New York City luxury bridal showroom experience to the community of Joplin. I had to get back beside the pedestal doing what I loved to my core which is interacting with brides making their dreams come to fruition 

Taylor did not ever think her love for bridal would blossom into what it is today. Taylor is very grateful for the knowledge she possesses being born and raised as a New Yorker and hopes to bring that native New York magic to Main Street Joplin.
